The cacao beans come from the heart of the Duarte province in the Dominican Republic, a region renowned for cacao production. "Öko-Caribe" (German for "Eco-Caribbean") is a particularly outstanding cacao supplier. Owners Adriano de Jesus Rodriguez and Gualberto Acebey Torrejon leverage over 50 years of experience to ensure consistently high quality in their annual production of over 500 tons. Öko-Caribe maintains close relationships with 165 farmers, providing training in agricultural techniques and organic certification. Furthermore, they offer microfinance and personal loans to cover cacao-related expenses and family emergencies.
